The term gnosis means knowledge, wisdom. It is a universal wisdom that is latent in the creation and in the man himself. “Homo nosce te ipsum”: man know thyself then thou shalt know the universe and the god”.
Gnosis in an experiential knowledge, a hundred percent practical, whose principles urge us to look for the answers to existential questions by researching the great truths of nature and the cosmos by ourselves.
The target of gnosis is the happiness of humankind by means of the harmonious development of the endless possibilities latent in the man. The real happiness relies on the awakening of the consciousness and the revaluation of the Being.
“The basic principles of the great universal wisdom are always alike. Buddha, Hermes Trismegistus, Quetzalcoatl or Jesus of Nazareth, the Great Kabir, etc… all of them handed on a message; each one of those messages coming from above, contains the same cosmic principles of impersonal and universal nature”.
We must take into consideration the Hellenistic and oriental elements, including Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, India, Palestine, Egypt etc. we should never ignore the Gnostic principles perceptible in the sublime religious cults of the Nahuas, Toltecs, Aztecs, Zapotecs, Mayans, Chibchas, Incas, Quechuas etc, etc, etc, of indo America. Frankly speaking, let us say that Gnosis is a very natural function of the consciousness; it is a philosophia perennis et universalis.
